Snow Shoveling

Since it has been snowing all day long today I had to shovel the snow three times which I did really enjoy doing. That is because it is nice exercise for me to have!

Climate Change

Over the years our climate has been changing to be warmer and less snow each year which is really nice to have happen. The weather we have today is a cloudy sky rainy day and a temperature up in the fifties.

One other thing is a memory I have of the weather back when I was a kid which at this time of the year we always had very cold temperatures and also often one to three feet of snow by Christmas time. Also, when my father shovelled our driveway there were huge piles of snow at the end of the driveway which we would climb on to pack and we would tunnel into them and dig out the snow to make them into igloos.

Also the snow on our street in front of our home would get packed down and we had a hill on our street we would sled on which we really liked to do. We also had to walk to and from our grade school each day and one really nice thing about that is that school was only three blocks away from our home.

Another Ride

I went on a nice ride on countryside farm land roads today which I really enjoyed going on. I enjoy them because I go on curvy roads. Also, because they're out in the countryside farm land there is no traffic on them.

The Ride I Took Today

Since it was a really nice day to day I went for a ride on curvy roads on my BMW which I loved to do! One other nice thing is I went to a gas station way out in the countryside which is one where I get gas for an excellent low price. That is really helpful because it saves me lots of money. Also, one other really nice thing is I always get excellent mileage of 54 to 57 miles per gallon.

BMW Ride

I just went for a really nice ride on my BMW today because the temperature got up to fifty degrees which is above average for this time of year that has made it a terrific day for me to go for a ride. Also, I really love to ride my BMW! One other thing is I always go for rides on curvy roads out in the countryside which is what I love to do!

Interesting Nice Weather Prediction

One really nice thing is NOAA shows it should be a sunny blue sky day today with a high temperature of forty-four degrees which will make it really nice for me to go for a ride on my BMW that I will really love to do! This is an update because it has become a beautiful blue sky day outside which is making me really happy!

It has become a beautiful blue sky day and I did go for a ride on my BMW which I loved doing! It is the ride I call the Swan Rd. ride because that is the nicest road I love to go on because it is a beautiful curvy road way out in the countryside.

Change in Weather

One really nice thing is it has become a beautiful blue sky day outside which is really nice to have happen. That makes it okay for me to for a ride on my BMW which I would truly like to do!

Memory Lane

I went on a memory lane ride on my BMW back in October and one sad thing is many of my lifetime places are closed and have been torn down. One of them was my Kindergarten school in Carpentersville and also my Junior High School in Dundee that was also closed and torn down. The grade school I went to in Meadowdale that was only three blocks away from our home is closed and was torn down.

Also, many of the factory's I used to work at back in the 1960's through the 1970's are closed and gone. Also, one other sad thing is some of the last four companies that made equipment for data centers I worked for went out of business and are gone.

My Motorcycle Racing History

I used to race motorcycles which I started to do in 1966 and I raced until 1985. I raced in many different kinds of motorcycle races. The first races I rode in were at Bob-Jo Speedway where I raced for ten years. Also I started racing motocross in 1967 which I kept racing until 1985 which was super beneficial to me. Also, that is a picture of me racing motocross at Byron Motosports Park back in 1974 on my Yamaha YZ250 where I won the race. Also this is a picture of me when I raced one time at Phoenix International Raceway back in 1975 where I set the track record lap time and won the race.

One thing about Bob-Jo Speedway is they stopped having motorcycle racing many years ago and they also do still have stock car racing.

Thanksgiving Sad Bad Weather

One odd thing is it is raining out and we've gotten almost two inches of rain so far. One other thing is I just checked outside and the rain has stopped which is really nice to have happen and I hope it does not start raining again.

Interesting Weather

NOAA also shows it will be unusually warm on Thanksgiving with the temperature getting up to 58 degrees and it will also rain. One other thing is that will cause all of our snow to melt. If it was going to stay seasonably cold that precipitation would be a gigantic amount of snow.

Also, I just got up and looked outside and all the snow is gone which is really nice to have had happen. One other thing it is raining and we've gotten over an inch of rain so far.

Snow Storm

We got eight inches of snow and it has now stopped snowing which is really nice to have happen! NOAA showed it will keep snowing until 7:00 PM but it isn't and it is still very overcast.

One other thing is we have DirecTV which is from a satellite and the snow accumulated on the satellite dish that blocked it from properly receiving the signalling. One nice thing is I have an extending pole with a special brush I use to brush the snow off the satellite dish with which I used and did get the snow off of it and that worked very well!

Also, it is now up to eight inches of snow which will definitely keep me shovelling to keep the driveway and sidewalks clear.

I Will Not Go For a Ride Today!

I won't go for a ride today because NOAA shows it will be a rainy day and it always is when they show that. One ironic thing is if I don't ride sometimes it doesn't rain. If I go for a ride I will find the rain and get drenched.

One really nice thing is it has become a sunny blue sky day! Which will make it nice for me to go for a ride.

I Just Went on Another Ride Today

I did go on a ride I truly enjoyed because it is one I call the Swan Road rode because Swan Road is a beautiful curvy road I love to ride on! It also takes me past a variety of really nice farms I love to look at! Also I have a nice way to go to a variety of other places where I love to ride!

My Lifetime Work Places

I just put together a collection of photos of all the places I worked at over my lifetime. One interesting thing is many of them were historical buildings that had been built in the early 1900's. This is one of those historical factory’s where we made springs which is where I worked on a production line back in 1969.

This is another place I worked at near the one above which was in 1970 where I made fiber molds for Steel Mill castings.

This is another place I worked where we made bags of powdered milk products that was named Milk Specialities where I had to lift up to 10,000 lbs of 100 pound bags of chunks of milk whey which I opened and dumped into the opening of the grinders they used to make it into powder. One other thing I did there was take 25 & 50 pound bags of powder products off the assembly lines and stack them onto pallets. Each pallet held 80 bags and I often loaded 20 pallets each shift I did that on. As you can see 20 pallets loaded with 50 pound bags was a total of 80,000 pounds of lifting per shift.

Fun things I did when I was a kid

Way back in the early 1960's my dad used to take my brother Rick and me skiing. One other thing we used to do was going to racing at Meadowdale Speedway Race Track many times which was sports car and stock car racing.

Another thing back in the late 1950's our family did was boating on a catamaran sailboat my dad had built. One other thing was way back in the early 1960's our family went on a vacation on the cabin cruiser we had. We lived on that boat for 2 weeks up in Sturgeon Bay Wisconsin. Another nice memory for me is that what Rick and I did then was when my Dad docked the boat we would always jump from the boat onto the pier and tie the boat to the dock. Also we went through many canals that had lochs where we went into the loch and held the ropes they had while they closed the loch doors and changed the water level in the loch to get us to the proper level on the exit side of the loch.

The other thing we did every day on that vacation was fishing to catch the fish we would clean and eat for dinner.

Another Interesting Place I Visited

This is a bull farm my family visited many times back in the 1960's. Also, I took this picture recently which is long after the bull farm shut down.

Another Historical Place I visited

This is a historic castle that was built back in the 1950's in Fox River Grove Illinois that is a truly classic place to visit. It is a memory from my youth when we did visit that castle two or three times a year during spring summer or fall.

One other interesting thing is we once met the man who built the castle and he explained how he did build it to us and led us on a tour of the castle.

Interesting Historical Place

This is a blacksmith shop that is in Kaneville a small town near where I live that was built in 1871. I posted it because this is a picture I took of it when I rode there on my BMW motorcycle.

Another Race I won!

This is me when I raced at Phoenix International Raceway back in 1984 where I set the track record lap time in my class and won the race!

Not Going Riding

I can't go for a ride because if I do it will definitely rain on me even though the NOAA website shows it shouldn't rain. I am saying that because all  the times I have ridden when NOAA showed it wasn't supposed to rain on cloudy sky days I got rained on. Every time I look at the site and see it predicts it won't rain I go to the radar site to see what is actually happening. That is a good thing to do since when I checked it just now it showed there is rain in our area.

One of my Early Jobs

This is a job I had when I was 18 years old. The company was named Chicago Aerial Industries and when I worked there I built weapons control systems for Huey Cobra helicopters. One other thing is our company provided all of them and I built them all. This is a picture of one of them:

It is an XM-28 sighting station which controlled all the weapons the Cobra had. Also, that is one I built which was back in 1969.

Bob Racing

This is me racing motocross on my YZ250 back in 1975. I won that race!
